Momi — home

Chapter III

One piece, many ways to wear it.

Momi is recognised by a pairing, not by a logo. Materials that rarely share a window end up in the same piece, and the oddness disappears the moment it is worn.

Out of season, on purpose

The collections do not chase the colour of the year. A necklace built three years ago sits next to one built now, and nobody can say which is which. The choice costs something in visibility and returns something more useful: the pieces stay wearable, and whoever bought one is not left holding an expired object.

The same necklace works over a white shirt on Monday and under an evening dress on Saturday. Not because it is neutral — it is not — but because it is built to live alongside whatever else is there, rather than to command it.

What always returns

Four things, from one collection to the next: hearts, stars, gold chain and silver chain. Size, material and company change — a heart in resin is not a heart in pyrite — but the four words stay the same.

It is why a piece is recognised with the label off, and why two pieces bought five years apart still sit well together.

Layering

Many pieces are made to be worn over other pieces. A short choker above a long necklace, two bracelets on the same thread with different stones, a thin ring beside a wider one. It is also why the lengths are more than one: they leave room for whatever sits underneath.

For him as well

The men's line uses the same materials with a shorter vocabulary: thicker thread, darker stone, fewer visible steps. It is not a reduced version of the others — it is the same craft with a different accent.

The one-off pieces

Beside the fixed families sit the one-off pieces: assembled once, from materials found once. They do not come back. They are the part of the work closest to what Momi was at the start — a table, a set of unrelated materials, and the curiosity to see what happens when they are put together.

Neither nickel nor cadmium

Not in one piece, not in one range: in none of them. It is not a separate line or a certificate to wave about, it is the condition under which a piece can be worn every day — which is the only reason worth making one.

Elegance is not being noticed. It is being remembered.
